September 27 event to feature multiple bands, food trucks, and entertainment
Sporting Cascades FC, the new professional soccer team that will call Civic Park home in 2027, is hosting Footy Fest on September 27, the club announced today.
Footy Fest will be a five-hour music festival at the stadium, with Eugene’s own double-platinum-selling the Daddies headlining. The festival will feature multiple bands performing throughout the afternoon and early evening, with food trucks and a special kids’ zone on site to entertain fans of all ages. The event is scheduled to run from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
The music festival is an exclusive event for Sporting Cascades FC fans who have placed season ticket deposits for the club’s inaugural 2027 season. Their deposit is their entry into the festival, and while at the stadium they will be able to select the exact seats they wish to sit in during SCFC matches.
Fans who have not yet placed season ticket deposits but wish to attend Footy Fest can place their deposits online. Anyone who places their deposit online prior to Footy Fest will also receive 5% off the total price of their season tickets. Walk-ups will also be taken, and deposits can also be applied towards single-game tickets and merchandise.
The Daddies, also known as the Cherry Poppin’ Daddies, formed in Eugene in 1989 and rose to fame worldwide with their double-platinum album “Zoot Suit Riot: The Swingin’ Hits of the Cherry Poppin’ Daddies” and its eponymous single. The 2009 Oregon Music Hall of Fame inductees recently released their 12th album, Roma! Roma!, and their “Footy Fest” appearance is part of a fall slate of shows that will see them perform across the country from New Jersey to California.
“We’re excited to have professional soccer in our city next year,” said Daddies singer-songwriter Steve Perry. “I spent many afternoons and evenings watching the Emeralds play at the old Civic Stadium with my family, and I can’t wait to see Sporting Cascades FC there. To headline the team’s first event at the park and play a role in getting people pumped up for what’s destined to be raucous energy every match day is a tremendous honor.”
Other bands scheduled to perform are Heavenly Oceans, whose drummer Tony Figoli designed the original Sporting Cascades FC crest; and Parker Galactic.
Further details, including a full lineup of food vendors, will be announced closer to the festival.
